Meet the Coaches

Coach Sanchez

 YOU CONTROLYOUR ATTITUDE & EFFORT

OUR ATTITUDE & EFFORT ARE WHAT ALLOW US TO RISE TO CHALLENGES.

My name is Nick Sanchez, and after 28 years of coaching athletes from the ages of 6 to 18 in 4 different sports (Football, Track & Field, Baseball and Softball) I have decided to  start A&E Athletics with a goal in mind to teach young athletes that the two things in life you are in total control over are your Attitude & Effort.  I want athletes to understand maintaining a positive attitude is the key to performing great during games, practices and workouts.  A great attitude fuels a great effort.

I started my coaching career coaching 16U travel softball for BNGSA and JFL football for the Bloomington Knockers in 1995, I went on to be an Asst. Coach for the Chicago Bears Junior Football program for 5 years where I coached youth football players ages 12-14 side by side with Bears players and coaches. I started my high school coaching career at St Laurence high school in Burbank IL for 2 seasons as an Asst. OL/DL coach.  After moving back to Bloomington in 2017 I rejoined the Knockers and was the head coach for the 8-10 year old's for two seasons and most recently joined the Central Catholic HS coaching staff in 2022 as the Freshman/JV Defensive Coordinator and Line Coach and the Asst. Varsity Line Coach.

I was taught by the best at Mt. Carmel in Chicago, and I continue to teach my athletes the techniques and the mental toughness of the game my coaches taught me. I make it clear from day one with every athlete there is no excuse for a poor attitude toward training or practicing . You are always in control of are your attitude.

You better show up ready to work.

I will work hard to teach your athlete how to build championship habits.  Because when your tired and when adversity hits your going to fall back on your habits.  coaching young athletes is not only about enhancing their athletic abilities but also about shaping their character, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and preparing them for success in various aspects of life. It's a rewarding role that has a lasting impact on both the athletes and the community.

Coach Maggie

A&E Athletics is happy to welcome Maggie Stolfa as our first girls fastpitch softball coach.  Maggie played catcher and 3B at Central Catholic high school.
A message from Coach Maggie Helping young athletes develop strong minds on and off of the field, court, and gym.
I specialize teaching softball fundamentals including hitting, throwing, and in-fielding with 10 years experience as a 3rd baseman and catcher. Exercise is a passion of mine, and I took up my new favorite sport, powerlifting, two years ago. As I continue to grow as an athlete lifting, I look forward to sharing my passion with youth on the physical and mental benefits of teamwork, hard work, and mindset. Mental health is a topic I am open to discussing as performance is very much confidence based as equally as technique focused. I look forward to learning about your athlete so I can bring out their fullest potential as they dominate in games while having fun.1 on 1 Softball Lessons $25 - 30 minPlease email Maggie to schedule a private 1 on 1 lesson.Magjstolfa@gmail.com

  • Marshall University Long Snapper 2017-2022
  • Started 36 Games for the Thundering Herd
  • 2020 C-USA Honorable Mention Long Snapper
  • 2021 C-USA Honorable Mention Long Snapper
  • 2022 Phil Steele All-Sun Belt 4thTeam Long Snapper

After 12 years of snapping with playing experience reaching the Division 1 level, I am ready to pass on my knowledge of the position and develop the next generation of young long snappers. In a sport where players are sorted into positions based on their size, athletic ability, and football IQ, it is my belief that anyone can become a long snapper. As long as the ball reaches the punter or holder in the right location, it does not matter who is over the ball when the play starts. It is my mission to breakdown the position and make the techniques simple and easy to learn while developing the athlete into a consistent snapper.  $30 - 50 mins
